Pioneer releasing first 12x speed Blu-ray Disc burner

Pioneer are ready and willing with their new release of the Blue-ray player with its capbility of 12x writing speed. With the current generation of Blue-ray players only at 8x this is a considerable jump.

The burner will also be able to read and write DVD media at 16x and CD media at 40x and has a low vibration feature according too Pioneer to increase burn qaulity.

The BDR-205 will go on sale this month. The retail version of the player “the BDR-2205“, is scheduled to ship in the couple of months of 2010 and is expected to have a recommended price of $US249 which isnt that bad for a flag shit writer.

Personally i think ill be waiting for the burners to start getting to the 40x speeds before i purchase one but i know there is a lot of people out there that will snap this up straight away.

How to Unlock and jailbreak the iphone 2g with windows.
This tutorial can be used to jailbreak the 3g iphone aswell.

Below you will find all the files needed to unlock the iphone 2g/. Including 39bin,46bin,original firmware 2.0.2/2.1 and winpwn 2.5 beta. I will also put a tutorial on how to use these tools. Enjoy!

*3g users when you get to the part that ask do you use an official carrier click yes*
*this will not unlock the 3g iphone as of yet.*

These are instructions on how to unlock and jailbreak your 2.0.x 2G iPhone using WinPwn 2.5 for Windows. They have been updated for iPhone firmware 2.0.2.

To follow this tutorial you will need to have iTunes 7.7 installed (make sure to reboot). Also, you may need to download and install .Net Framework if you are on Windows XP. Finally, make sure you completely uninstall any previous version of WinPwn. Thanks to cmw for all his hard work on this!

Step One
Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage. In it place Winpwn 2.5 (mirror), 3.9BL , 4.6BL, and the latest 2.0 firmware.

2.0.2 (2G): iPhone1,1_2.0.2_5C1_Restore.ipsw

2.0.2 (3g): iPhone1,2_2.0.2_5C1_Restore.ipsw

Step Two

Install WinPwn by double clicking the downloaded executable. Once WinPwn has been installed it will put a shortcut icon on your desktop. Double click to launch the application.

Step Three

Once WinPwn has opened click the Expert Mode switch to turn Expert Mode ON.

Now click to select the iPhone 2G.

Step Four

You will then be asked to select the firmware you would like to use. Do this then click the green right arrow at the bottom right of the window.

Step Five

You will then be asked if you would like to unlock the iPhone. Most likely you will want to click the green thumbs up button.

Step Six

You will then be asked if you would like to delete BootNeuter after it completes. Most likely you will want to click the green thumbs up button.

Step Seven

WinPwn will now ask if you want to activate your iPhone. If you are not on an official carrier then you will want to click the green thumbs up button.

Step Eight

You will now be asked if you want to install YouTube activation. Again if you are not on an official carrier then you will want to click the green thumbs up button.

Step Nine

You will be asked if you wish to install Cydia. Click the green thumbs up button.

Step Ten

Next you will be asked if you want to install Installer 4. Click the green thumbs up button.

Step Eleven

WinPwn will then ask if you wish to resize the root partition. Click the green thumbs up button.

Step Twelve

If you want to wipe data when doing the restore click the green thumbs up button. Note: this will take longer and I clicked the red thumbs down button.

Step Thirteen

WinPwn will then ask if you would like to use custom boot/recovery images. Click the green thumbs up button if you would like to.

Step Fourteen

You will now be asked to set the size of your root partition. Move the slider to select a partion size of 800mb.

Step Fifteen

You will now be able to select your custom images. Click the iPhone on the left to select your boot logo. Click the iPhone on the right to select your recovery logo.

Click the green arrow button to continue.

Step Sixteen

WinPwn will now ask you to select a location to save the Custom IPSW. Navigate to the Pwnage folder you created on your desktop and click the Save button.

Step Seventeen

WinPwn will now search for your ipsw firmware file. If it cannot find it you will be asked to search manually. Click the green thumbs up button then navigate to the Pwnage folder on your desktop and select the ipsw you downloaded in Step One.

Step Eighteen

WinPwn will now build your custom ipsw.

Step Nineteen

WinPwn will then prompt you to connect your iPhone via USB and make sure its turned off. Do this then click the green thumbs up button.

Step Twenty

WinPwn will then say its ready to start Pwnage. Click the green OK button.

Step Twenty One

Be ready to follow directions now. It will ask you to hold the home button and the power button for 10 seconds. Then, you will have to release the power button and hold the home button for 10 seconds to enter DFU.

Step Twenty Three

Once you iPhone is in DFU mode WinPwn will begin the pwnage process.

You will be informed when pwnage is complete.

Notice your iPhone will show a message saying, “Ready to Restore Custom IPSW”.

Step Twenty Four

iTunes will now prompt you that you are in recovery mode.

Hold down Shift and click the Restore button in iTunes.

A popup window will appear asking you to select your firmware. Select the Custom firmware file we created using WinPwn from the Pwnage folder on your Desktop then click the Open button.

TeaShark, a mobile browser like Opera Mini, let you access Airtel GPRS for FREE. Shockingly it has nothing to do with modifying any Airtel setting so I am clueless about how its working! I tested it personally throughout the week but I haven’t been charged a single paisa. Here is how I used this….

Download TeaShark browser. Its free and being JAR file it can be installed on most handsets.
Open it from your mobile and select AirTel Live as access point.
Thats it! Open any site from TeaShark and you won’t be charged anything.

Note for the first time, when TeaShark starts, it may take more than one minute to initialize. Also this one time initialization may fail many times. But don’t loose your heart!

This is much different that earlier trick. As of now, this trick is limited to handsets only. The earlier one used to work even from PC.

The whole thing seems a fortunate coincidence for mobile users and unfortunate one for network operators. This trick cannot be termed illegal as you are not cracking any software or modifying any configuration. For the same reason, I think this will take longer to get rectified.

Please keep in mind that AirTel or any mobile operator can calculate all unbilled/free usage anytime in future thus may charge you all of a sudden. So please use it at your own risk!

Set up or Connect your PC or Laptop to the Internet using your Vodafone Mobile – Tutorial Explained

This is a post, In case you didn’t know how to connect your PC or Laptop to the internet using your Vodafone mobile connection in India. (It may work for other countries also). Many people actually don’t know about this method. This is also called the Dial-Up process of connecting to the Internet. The process is very simple…

You need:
(1) A vodafone connection in India
(2) A Bluetooth enabled mobile phone with GPRS facility.
(3) A Personal Computer or Laptop.
(4) Bluetooth Dongle.

Steps:
(1) Delete all the internet profiles (if any) from your mobile phone.
(2) Delete all the data accounts (if any) from your mobile phone.
(3) Send the message WWW to 52586
(4) Save the settings that you receive.
(5) Connect your PC/Laptop to the mobile phone using the Bluetooth software.
(6) In the software (given in the CD which came with the mobile), select the option resembling “Connect to Internet”.
(7) Provide the number to dial as *99***1# and dial.
(8) You will be connected to the internet.
This procedure was tested from Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and it worked fine. If you know of any different procedure for any other locale, please comment below.
